  As Director of The Strength Academy Steve has that rare chance to exploit his passions and ensure that everyone going through the Academy leaves the other side a better person than when they entered. His passion for training, learning and competing is contagious and many people he has worked with now successfully run their own established kettlebell businesses based on his coaching and certifications. As a recognised industry leader, Steve has designed kettlebell and weightlifitng courses, created the first  fully comprehensive kettlebell instruction and workout DVD and also acted as adviser for several international companies, emergency services and military organisations. 

Steve has a very simple philosophy for life - "be the living example of what you teach to others". He ensures this with a rigorous training routine, regular competitions and continual upgrading of his knowledge from his peers and mentors as well as journal research and article reviews. He has worked with everyone from mums at home looking to get in shape, to rock groups, company directors, professional athletes and even Olympians. His passion is that everyone understands how accepting health and well-being should not be a daunting task, but a personal responsibility and that with the right education, goals and motivation you really can be whatever you choose to be.

Dr. Jeremy Moody is currently the Programme Director for the MSc in Strength and Conditioning at Cardiff Metropolitan University and Performance Director for Judo in Wales. Jeremy has previously worked for the English Institute of Sport as a Regional Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach and Performance Manager at UK Athletics. A previous Chairman of the UKSCA and member of the UKSCA Board of Directors Jeremy also works for the UKSCA as a lead assessor and senior tutor. Jeremy is a regular speaker both Nationally and Internationally in the field of Strength and Conditioning. Jeremy enjoys working with sports individuals or teams taking on specialist short-term projects in performance enhancement and has provided mentoring support and guidance to many strength and conditioning coaches in the UK and overseas.

Biography:
 

Ian is one of the most respected strength and conditioning coaches in the UK, and is regarded as a world authority in the development of speed and agility for team and court sports. Ian is currently a senior lecturer in strength and conditioning at the University of Glamorgan, where he co-ordinates all of the University's strength and conditioning activities, as well as working with a range of professional sports bodies. He is also the Proprietor and Performance Director of All-Pro Performance based in Brecon Wales. He has worked with athletes, clubs and sports organisations across a range of abilities and sports for over 20 years both in the UK and around the world including the UK, USA, China, Turkey, Norway, Ireland and the Netherlands. He was the NSCA's High School Professional of the Year in 2006, and was awarded a Fellowship by the NSCA in 2009.  

 

A Director of the UKSCA, Ian is the Editor of, "Professional Strength and Conditioning" and is on the Editorial Board for the NSCA's Strength and Conditioning Journal and the Journal of Australian Strength and Conditioning. Ian has authored three books "Total Soccer Fitness", "A Coaches Guide to Enhancing Recovery" and "Gamespeed - Movement Training for Superior Sports performance". He has also authored a number of book chapters including the warm-up and stretching chapter for the third edition of the Essentials of Strength Training and Conditioning. Ian is a much sought after Conference Presenter and has given keynote presentations, and hosted high performance workshops at a host of major conferences around the world.

Dr Paul Ford is a BASES Accredited Physiologist with experience as a sport science practitioner in high performance sport, along with a background as an Olympic sport's manager and academic in exercise physiology. An employment and voluntary background of working within high performance sport in relation specifically to professional football, rugby and cricket teams, as well as in the Olympic and Paralympic movement; supporting players and athletes in preparation, training and competition. Likewise, he has managed a university sport science laboratory and forged partnerships with professional sports teams to create bespoke science projects, conditioning strategies, and internship programmes to help assess physiological markers in both laboratory and field settings. He has experience with national and international sports bodies in relation to their performance development strategies and resource allocations, and direct work with the British Olympic Association and United States Olympic Committee.

Giles started training at Colvestone Youth Centre, Hackney in 1983 and competed in his first competition as a fifteen year old in 1986. His competitive career lasted for 16 years during which he represented Great Britain in many international competitions around the world won 10 consecutive British titles (1993-2002), EU medals (1994, 1999) and 5 Commonwealth Games medals including a gold medal for the snatch in 2002.
On retiring from competitive weightlifting in early 2003, Giles promptly lost 4½ stone ("You can't be a superheavy forever!") and took a job as weightlifting coach at London's famous Bethnal Green Weightlifting Club. Bethnal Green was founded in 1926 making it the oldest weightlifting club in the country. Since joining the team at Bethnal Green as head weightlifting coach, Giles has helped his athletes to achieve honours at regional and national junior level.

He is able to deliver scientific material to a public audience and empower them to make positive changes to their health through educated nutrition and food choices. Alex is an international presenter, speaker and writer with regular columns in leading fitness magazines.
